Markets were buoyed by the announcement of a trade agreement with India. This agreement comes months after the imposition of a 50 percent tariff on Indian goods in August 2025. It also includes a claim that India will stop buying Russian oil. Trump had previously imposed a 50 percent tariff on India, 25 percent of which was linked to the import of crude oil from Russia. The stock market rebounded after the trade deal between the two countries was finalised.
