Stock Market Today 25 Feb: The Indian stock market was in turmoil yesterday and the Sensex fell by a maximum of 1300 points but today there has been a strong comeback. In India, the indices opened in the positive zone. Nifty 50 index opened at 25,512.60 with a gain of 87.95 points or 0.35 percent, while the BSE Sensex opened at 82,530.22 with a gain of 304.30 points or 0.37 percent. At 9:20 am, the Sensex was at 82,751 with a gain of 478 points or 0.58 percent and the Nifty was at 25,570 with a gain of 147 points or 0.58 percent.

Globally, including in India, stock markets saw gains in the opening session on Wednesday as the market broke out of oversold territory and concerns related to artificial intelligence (AI) eased, but uncertainty persisted due to global developments. Market experts emphasized that global cues and upcoming events, including US President Donald Trump’s speech, could further influence market sentiment.
IT Shares High Today
IT stocks were driving the market rally in early trade. Nifty IT was the top gainer among the indices. Meanwhile, almost all indices, including Nifty Metal, Nifty Realty, Nifty Oil & Gas, Nifty PSE, Nifty Commodities, Nifty Services, Nifty Media, Nifty India Defence, and Nifty Energy, were in the green. Along with large-caps, mid-caps and small-caps remained in the green. The Nifty Midcap 100 index was up 235 points, or 0.43 percent, at 59,307, and the Nifty Smallcap 100 index was up 98 points, or 0.59 percent, at 17,058.
Top Gainers and Losers Shares
Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech, TCS, Power Grid, Indigo, Tata Steel, NTPC, L&T, Sun Pharma, Adani Ports, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, and BEL were among the gainers in the Sensex pack. SBI, Bajaj Finance, and Asian Paints were among the losers. The market sentiment also remained positive, with more gainers than losers.
Asian Market Today
In Asian markets, China’s Shanghai Stock Exchange rose 0.87 percent, the Shenzhen Stock Exchange rose 0.94 percent, Japan’s Nikkei gained 1.44 percent, and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index rose 0.46 percent. South Korea’s Kospi gained 2.33 percent.
