Stock Market today 15 Dec: Indian stock markets opened lower today. In early trading, the Sensex fell by approximately 280 points to around 84,989, a decline of about 0.33 percent. The Nifty also traded lower at around 25,966, down 81 points or 0.31 percent.
The subdued global market sentiment impacted investor confidence, and most of the NSE indices opened in the red, reflecting the overall cautious mood. The Nifty Auto index fell by 0.84 percent, Nifty IT by 0.55 percent, Nifty Pharma by 0.70 percent, Nifty PSU Bank by 0.32 percent, and Nifty Private Bank by 0.26 percent. Only the Nifty Media and Nifty Metal indices opened without losses.

Market analysts say that on the upside, resistance is seen at 26,150-26,200, which remains a significant hurdle for any upward movement. A decisive close above 26,200 is necessary to resume the bullish momentum and move towards 26,500. Until then, the index is likely to remain range-bound with a negative bias.
Top Gainers and Losers Shares
Most large-cap stocks remained under pressure in the early trading session. Mahindra & Mahindra, Trent, Bharti Airtel, NTPC, Bajaj Finserv, Power Grid, Sun Pharma, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Infosys, TCS, Titan, Maruti Suzuki, and Bajaj Finance were among the top losers in the Sensex, falling by up to 1.4 percent. Only a few stocks saw gains. Asian Paints, Bharat Electronics (BEL), Hindustan Unilever (HUL), and UltraTech Cement were the only gainers on the benchmark index.
