Stock Market Today 13 May: After a major decline, the Indian stock market opened flat today. At 9:21 AM, the Sensex was down by 6 points at 74,553, while the Nifty was up marginally by 10 points at 23,390. At the time of writing the news, trading was continuing with a gain of 190 points in the Sensex and a slight rise of 80 points in the Nifty.

In early trade, mixed trading was being seen in the market. There was strength in metal and defense stocks. Nifty Metal and Nifty India Defense were gainers. Nifty FMCG, Nifty Oil & Gas, Nifty Pharma, Nifty Commodities, Nifty PSE, Nifty Healthcare, and Nifty Energy were also gainers. On the other hand, Nifty IT, Nifty Services, and Nifty PSU Bank were losers.

Sensex Top Gainers Shares

In the Sensex pack, Asian Paints, Adani Ports, Tata Steel, BEL, Kotak Mahindra, L&T, ITC, Sun Pharma, Trent, Bajaj Finserv, Maruti Suzuki, TCS, HCL Tech, Bharti Airtel, and Tech Mahindra were top gainers. Power Grid, Bajaj Finance, Eternal, NTPC, Infosys, SBI, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, and M&M were top losers.

Midcap and smallcap stocks were trading with gains. The Nifty Midcap 100 Index was up by 228 points or 0.38% at 59,932, while the Nifty Smallcap 100 Index was stronger by 76 points or 0.43% at 18,015.

Asian Market Today

Along with the Indian stock market, gains were also seen in Asian markets. Tokyo, Hong Kong, Seoul, Bangkok, and Shanghai were in the green mark, while Jakarta was in the red mark. During US market trading, the Dow Jones closed up by 0.11%, while the Nasdaq closed down by 0.71%.
