New Rule Changes: Several important economic changes will start on December 1. These changes will directly affect your daily expenses. They include updates to gas cylinder prices, pension rules, tax-related deadlines, and fuel rates. Let’s take a look at these five major changes and understand how they might impact you.

New Rule Changes: LPG gas cylinder price increases

New Rule Changes: LPG gas cylinder price increases

Oil companies revise gas cylinder prices at the beginning of every month. Prices for both commercial and domestic LPG cylinders are typically updated on the 1st. In November, companies reduced the price of a 19-kg commercial cylinder by ₹6.50. However, domestic LPG prices have remained unchanged for quite some time. New rates will be released on December 1st, which could increase or decrease the prices of both domestic and commercial cylinders. This will directly impact the budgets of hotels, restaurants, and households.

New Rule From Dec 1: Last date to opt for Unified Pension Scheme (UPS)

A major change is coming to the pension system for government employees. Employees will have to choose between NPS (National Pension System) and UPS (Unified Pension Scheme). The government has extended the deadline for choosing UPS to November 30th, up from September 30th. If an employee delays making their choice until November 30th, they will no longer be eligible for this option after December 1st. Therefore, employees should make their decision promptly.

Pension Rule Changes: Last date for life certificate for pension holders

Pension Rule Changes: Last date for life certificate for pension holders

Senior citizens are required to submit a Life Certificate every year to receive a regular pension. This year, the deadline is November 30th. If a pensioner fails to submit a Life Certificate by the due date, their pension is temporarily withheld. Submissions can be made online, at a bank, or from home through the India Post Payments Bank.

New Rule Changes: Important rules related to tax

Certain important statements related to TDS deductions must also be submitted by November 30th. If TDS was deducted from your account in October, the relevant details under sections 194-IA, 194-IB, 194M, and 194S must be provided. Taxpayers who are required to submit reports under section 92E can also complete these by November 30th. Failure to submit these documents on time may result in penalties, so taxpayers should be vigilant.

Changes in the prices of CNG, PNG and jet fuel

Just as LPG prices change every month, the prices of CNG, PNG, and ATF (aviation turbine fuel), also known as jet fuel, are updated. New rates are expected to be released on December 1st. Increases and decreases in CNG and PNG prices directly impact domestic consumers and motorists, while ATF prices can influence airline ticket prices.
