Forbes has introduced its inaugural ranking of the 25 most valuable privately owned family businesses in America, a complement to its existing list based on revenue. This new valuation methodology, developed with five experts, scrutinizes family ownership and the involvement of family members in executive and board positions, specifically excluding companies founded and managed solely by the first generation.
