New UPI Rules from 1 Aug: From today, i.e., 1 August, 2025 the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has implemented some new UPI Rules. The step has been taken in order to make the interface stable and efficient. It is to be noticed that besides UPI, some other financial changes are also scheduled.

The New UPI Rules from 1 Aug are

1. Balance check Limit:

The users will now be able to check their account balance just 50 times per day. However, the rule applies to each app separately if you use multiple apps.

2. Autopay Timings:

The Autopay Transactions will be processed in 3 Time slots now, they are

-Before 10 am

- Between 1 pm and 5 pm

- After 9:30 pm

3. Transaction Status Check Limit:

Now the users will be allowed to check the status of pending transactions only three times. Also, this will be possible with a minimum gap of 90 seconds between each check.

4. Beneficiary Name Display:

In order to reduce fraud and errors while making payment, the recipient's registered Bank name will be visible before confirming the payments.

5. Payment Reversal Cap:

Now with the cap of 5 per sender, the users can raise a maximum of 10 payment reversal requests.

6. Strict Rules for Banks and UPI Apps:

Now the API usage will also be monitored and the apps & Banks that are non-complaint may face penalties and restricted access.

7. Linked Account Checks:

Limited to 25 times per day per app.
