Gautam Adani announces Rs 2,000 crore to set up 20 schools globally
Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani on Monday announced the creation of world-class schools of excellence across the country to provide affordable and accessible quality education to all. This partnership, with an initial donation of Rs 2,000 crore from the Adani family, will prioritise making world-class education and learning infrastructure affordable for people from all sections of society. Announcing Adani Foundation's partnership with GEMS Education, an international network of award-winning K-12 schools, Adani said, "The first such school will open in Lucknow in the academic year 2025-26.

"We are proud to announce the Adani Foundation's partnership with GEMS Education, a global leader in K-12 education," Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani wrote in a post on social media platform X. We will build a world-class Adani GEMS School of Excellence across India, making quality education affordable and accessible for all. He further said that 30 per cent seats in the CBSE syllabus in these schools will be free for underprivileged children. The first school in Lucknow will open in 2025-26 and there are plans to open 20 schools in 3 years. Together we will help shape the future of each student.
Adani Group pledges Rs 2,000 crore for 20 schools
He further said that service is meditation, service is prayer and service is God. The partnership is part of a recent Rs 10,000 crore social donation by the Adani Group. The company had earlier announced a partnership with Singapore's ITE Education Services (ITEES) for Rs 6,000 crore to build Adani Health Cities (AHC) in partnership with US-based Mayo Clinics. The objective of this partnership is to create a skilled workforce in areas such as green energy, manufacturing, high-tech, project excellence and industrial design. An international-level School of Excellence will be set up towards this goal, for which the Adani family will donate Rs 2,000 crore.
Developing affordable and sustainable models for students
In the next three years, at least 20 such schools in the K-12 segment will be opened in major metros of India and thereafter in three and fourth-tier cities. Leveraging the Adani Group's pan-India presence and extensive infrastructure capabilities and the educational expertise of GEMS, the partnership plans to develop a scalable, affordable and sustainable model for quality education for students across India.
