India to become 3rd largest economy: President Murmu
President of India Droupadi Murmu addressed the joint sitting of both Houses of Parliament while initiating the Budget Session 2025-26. President Droupadi Murmu said that with the efforts of the government, India is going to become the third largest economy in the world, further she added that government's mantra Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.
Priority to every class
President Droupadi Murmu said, "Two months ago, we completed 75 years of the adoption of our Constitution and a few days ago, we completed our journey of 75 years. On behalf of all Indians, I bow to Babasaheb Ambedkar and all others in the Constitution Committee. Today, the country is seeing big decisions being taken at a rapid pace. In these decisions, priority is being given to women, youth, middle class and farmers. Strong steps have been taken to provide housing through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The government has also decided to provide 3 crore more houses under this scheme.
Health cover of Rs 5 lakh will be available
It has been decided to provide health insurance to six crore senior citizens aged 70 years and above under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme. They will get a health cover of Rs 5 lakh every year. Work is underway on 15 ropeways to promote tourism.
