The Central Government has given a big gift to the Central employees before the presentation of the Union Budget 2025, the Central Government has approved the formation of the Eighth Pay Commission.

In response to a question in Parliament about the Eighth Pay Commission, the government initially declined to propose any such measure. However, ahead of the Union Budget 2025, the government has now approved the establishment of the Eighth Pay Commission, bringing good news to central employees.

Central employees have long been pushing for the Eighth Pay Commission as the dearness allowance for both employees and pensioners has hit 53 percent. Traditionally, the commission is updated every decade, yet the Seventh Pay Commission, implemented in 2016, is still in force.

The introduction of the 8th Pay Commission could result in a significant alteration in the salaries of central government employees. According to reports, the fitment factor could be at least 2.86, which could increase the minimum basic salary from Rs 18,000 to Rs 51,480. Apart from this, the minimum pension of pensioners can also be increased from Rs 9,000 to Rs 25,740.
