If we look at the three day collection of the film, then on the first day it earned Rs 75 lakh, on the second day Rs 4.65 crore and on the third day Rs 4.51 crore. The film ‘The Kerala Story 2’ has collected Rs 9.91 crore at the box office in three days on the first weekend. From this it can be estimated that the film is being liked.

Controversy erupted as soon as the trailer for the film “The Kerala Story 2” was released. Objections were raised regarding everything from the film’s dialogues to its scenes. A petition was filed in the Kerala High Court alleging that the film was attempting to tarnish the image of the state of Kerala and therefore, should be banned from release. A single bench of the court, hearing the petition, imposed a 15-day ban on the film.
