He died at MR Bangur Super Speciality Hospital in Kolkata, where he had been battling typhoid and age-related illnesses for some time. His death has been confirmed. The Bengali film industry has lost a valuable actor. For the past few months, he had been struggling with various health problems and was hospitalized. Age-related complications and typhoid had worsened his condition. He finally breathed his last late Sunday night. His family informed that his last rites were performed at the Keoratala crematorium in Kolkata.
