BBMF Sends Legal Notice to Kapil Sharma Show for Tagore Misrepresentation
Popular comedian show The Great India Kapil Show is entertaining viewers on Netflix. Like TV, its popularity on OTT is the same. The Great Indian Kapil Show received a legal notice on November 1 for hurting the religious sentiments of the Bengali community as well as maligning the image of late Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore. The complainants, through legal notices, have raised concerns over the portrayal of Bengalis in the show.

The notice has been sent by Dr Mondal, president of the Bongo-speaking Mahasabha Foundation (BBMF), through his legal advisor Nripendra Krishna Roy. The notice states that something has been done in The Great Indian Kapil Show which is derogatory towards the great poet, Rabindranath Tagore. This runs the risk of hurting the religious and cultural sentiments of Bengalis not only in India but across the world."
