Anant Singh Bihar Assembly Oath: In a moment that turned heads in the Bihar Assembly, JD(U) MLA from Mokama, Anant Singh, took his oath on Tuesday under unusual circumstances. Having spent the past three months in judicial custody over the Dularchand Yadav murder case, Singh completed the ceremony silently, without reading the oath document.
Immediately afterward, he approached Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, touched his feet, and sought his blessings. The Chief Minister reportedly inquired about the tilak on Singh’s forehead before he returned to his seat, as other members watched closely.

In the October elections, Singh won decisively, securing 91,416 votes against RJD’s Veena Devi, who received 63,210, giving him a commanding margin of 28,206 votes. While his oath now formalizes his position as an MLA, his active participation in the Assembly will depend on the High Court’s decision on his bail plea.
