After a considerable period, the BJP is set to govern Delhi once more. Rekha Gupta has been named the new Chief Minister of Delhi by the BJP.

Rekha Gupta, born in 1974 in Nandgarh village, Jind district, Haryana, relocated to Delhi with her family when she was two years old. Her father was an officer at the State Bank of India, and she completed her education in Delhi.

Rekha Gupta obtained a B.Com degree from Daulat Ram College, University of Delhi, and later pursued an LLB from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut. She began her political journey as a student leader. In 1992, while in college, she joined the ABVP.

She was actively involved in student politics and served as the President of the DUSU during the 1996-97 academic year

He held the position of BJP Yuva Morcha State Secretary in 2003 and 2004. She served as the secretary of the BJP Yuva Morcha from 2004 to 2006.

Rekha Gupta was elected as a councillor from Pitampura North in 2007.

During his tenure, he focused on enhancing community amenities such as libraries, parks, and swimming pools. In addition, he launched the 'Sumedha Yojana,' a program designed to offer higher education opportunities to economically disadvantaged female students.

Additionally, in her role as Chairperson of the Committee on Women's Welfare and Child Development, she took a leading position on women's empowerment.

In the recent Delhi Assembly elections, first-time MLA Rekha Gupta won in Shalimar Bagh by defeating Aam Aadmi Party's Bandana Kumari with a lead of 29,595 votes.
