Uttarakhand is poised to be the first state to enforce the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) starting today (January 27).
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that the introduction of the UCC will decrease the number of cases concerning individual citizen issues.
Legislation that discriminates based on caste, religion, gender, and other criteria will be made uniform.
He mentioned that all essential arrangements have been finalized for the execution of UCC.
This involves sanctioning the regulations of the Act and educating the relevant officials
