Delicious South Indian Chicken Coconut Curry Recipe

South Indian style chicken coconut curry is a very tasty dish. It is a great blend of spicy spices and mild sweetness

You need 500 grams chicken, 3 onions,10 curry leaves,2 tablespoons ghee,1/2 teaspoon garam masala, salt to taste

10 Kashmiri red chillies, 2 tbsp coriander seeds, 4 garlic cloves, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds

1/2 tsp Fennel seeds, 1 cinnamon, 10 black peppercorns, 4 cloves, 4 green cardamoms, 2 tbsp tamarind, 10 tbsp grated coconut, 2 tsp ghee and 1 tsp cumin seeds

Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan and sauté all the spices except garlic, turmeric powder, tamarind for 2-4 min. for masala paste

Allow them to cool and grind finely with water

Now marinate the chicken with salt and masala paste and keep it for 2 hours

Heat oil in a pan and add chopped onions and curry leaves and sauté for 1 minute

Add the marinated chicken pieces to it and cook for 15-20 minutes. Make a paste of coconut and cumin seeds

When the chicken is almost ready, add the paste and garam masala and cook for 10 min. Serve with some ghee on top
