Former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri showed concern about India’s bowling attack in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy
He questioned the bowlers strategy in the ongoing third Test against Australia at the Gabba: Can others execute their plans just like Jasprit Bumrah?
After an extremely precious knock of Australian batters in the first inning, they set up a target of 445 runs for the Indian side
Bumrah took the wickets of the key players Steve Smith and Travis Head, who scored a century and helped Australia put up such a big target
While other bowlers struggled to take wickets, Mohammed Siraj took 2 wickets, Akash Deep and Nitish Reddy took single wickets, and Ravindra Jadeja remained wicketless.
Ravi Shastri, questioning the strategy of the bowlers, said
“They were giving away runs on both sides. Bumrah has done most things right, but I think when you look at the others, you think, ‘Can they execute?’”
Australian batters Travis Head and Steve Smith both scored a century and made a good partnership on Day 2 against India on Sunday
Head scored 152 runs off 160 balls while Smith also made a comeback at the Gabba, scoring 101 runs off 190 balls. Head scored his 9th test century, whereas Smith scored his 33rd century
The Indian top order failed to perform again; Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill lost their wickets to Mitchell Starc, while Virat Kohli lost his wicket to Josh Hazelwood
