French toast is a delicious breakfast or brunch dish made by soaking slices of bread in a mixture of eggs, milk (or cream), sugar, and spices, then frying them until golden brown.
Here’s a basic recipe to make French toast:
Ingredients:
Instructions:
Prepare the batter: In a shallow bowl or dish, beat the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon (if desired), and a pinch of salt until thoroughly mixed.
Heat the pan: Place a large skillet or griddle over medium heat and add the butter. Allow it to melt and coat the bottom of the pan.
Dip the bread: Take a slice of bread and dip it into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are fully coated. Allow the excess to drip off.
Cook the French toast: Put the coated bread slice in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until it becomes golden brown and crispy. Do the same with the rest of the bread slices.
Serve: Serve hot with your favorite toppings like maple syrup, powdered sugar, fresh berries, or whipped cream.
