When visiting Kashmir, you can now book a direct Uber not just for taxis but also for Shikara rides on Dal Lake through the Uber app.

Just like in Italy, you can now reserve a Shikara Ride on the famous Dal Lake in Kashmir via an app in India.

Uber claims that this is the inaugural service of its kind not just in India, but across Asia, aimed at attracting tourism customers.

The company has recently launched a limited number of 'Shikara' on its platform, with intentions for more Shikara riders to join progressively.

An icon depicting a Shikara Boat will appear on the Uber app, allowing you to book Shikara rides at government-fixed rates.

You can book a one-hour shikara ride from 10 am to 5 pm at Shikara Ghat No-16 on Dal Lake.

Uber Shikara rides have a capacity for up to 4 passengers and can be booked from 15 days to 12 hours before the journey.

In certain European countries, including Venice, Italy, Uber provides a traditional boat ride service.
