However, are you aware of when it began and who initiated it?

It may come as a surprise that the Aadhaar card initiative began with guidelines documented on a piece of paper.

Nandan Nilekani recently mentioned this during a conversation with LinkedIn CEO Ryan Roslensky.

Nandan Nilekani is known for leading the Aadhaar project. During that period, he was also a co-founder of Infosys.

He mentioned that he was provided with just a piece of paper to contemplate the identity card plan.

It was stated that Indians need to obtain a unique identity card, allowing them to use this same card nationwide.

He created the Aadhaar card, which provides a unique identity to the country, based on instructions received on a piece of paper.

Currently, around 1.3 billion people in the country possess an Aadhaar card, which serves as their identification card.
