Patna Metro to Launch on August 15, 2025: Deputy CM

Patna: The Patna Metro Rail service is set to commence next year, in 2025. Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary has also announced the launch date.

During the winter session of the Bihar Assembly, he announced that the residents of Patna will have access to the metro rail service starting August 15, 2025.
The launch of the metro rail will make it much easier for Patna residents to travel anywhere.
While presenting the second budget of Rs 32,506 crore for the current fiscal year in the House, he announced that the metro service will commence shortly.
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary stated that this budget will be utilized to more effectively implement various schemes of the Central and Bihar government within the state.
The funds will be utilized to finish the initial phase of the Patna Metro Rail Project. The Patna Metro is set to commence operations on Independence Day next year.
Patna: In preparation for the Bihar Assembly elections scheduled for next year, the Nitish Kumar administration is set to launch metro rail services in Patna in the first phase.
To achieve this, the state government will purchase a train at a cost of Rs 33 crore. The Nitish cabinet recently approved an amount of Rs 115 crore.
During the initial stage, the metro will operate between two locations. In the North-South corridor, it will travel from Patna Junction to Danapur, whereas in the East-West corridor, it will link the Patna Sahib area to AIIMS.
