The first Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy has been won by India by 295 runs against Australia at the Optus Stadium in Perth

After being bowled by the Aussies to 150 in their first innings to win the first match, India did a tremendous job

Jasprit Bumrah, stand-in captain, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Virat Kohli took over the Aussies in the first Test

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly warned Australia, stating that there is more to come from this Indian team

“Obviously there were media reports in Australia that ‘we will blow them away.’ Look who has blown them away in the first Test.”

He said that there were media reports in Australia that they would blow India away, but look now who has blown them away in the first Test

“The Indian cricket team has enormous talent, and this is for Australia: Play well; otherwise, it’s going to be a long series for you.”

Further, Ganguly said that it’s great to see Bumrah, Kohli, and Yashasvi in the first Test. He loved Nitish Reddy, who bowled well

“It’s great to see Bumrah, wow! Bumrah, Kohli, and Yashasvi—a 22-year-old, first Test in Australia, superb! I liked the young boy from Hyderabad, Nitish (Kumar) Reddy. The seamers bowled well. They never looked out of place on a big occasion, on a big stage, playing for India.”
“They’ll keep putting pressure on Australia in the next four matches.”

Ganguly stated that the second match will be a day-night Test with the pink ball; this will present a different challenge to the Indian team

“The next Test is important for me because, in day-night Tests, Australia has a great record in Adelaide. We Indians will have to get used to that pink ball. But it’s a long series, and I’ve got my fingers crossed for India winning the series.
