Rohit Sharma's Return Puts KL Rahul's Spot In Adelaide Test At Risk

KL Rahul made a classic comeback in the first Test played against Australia at the Optus Stadium in Perth

Despite that, it seems that his place in the second Test of the series is in fear

He was the only player who scored decent runs in both innings—scoring 26 and 77

It is still not sure whether he will be in India’s XI for the second match of the series, the reason for this is the return of skipper Rohit Sharma in the second Test in Adelaide

Rohit has joined the Indian team and was seen in the pavilion on Day 4 supporting India, missed the first Test in Perth due to the birth of his baby boy

When Rahul was asked about his place and about the changes in the XI, he said that everyone has to wait and see, and he is sure that the captain and coach have sorted everything in their heads

“He will obviously walk in. He is the captain. We will have to wait and see. I am sure the captain and the coach have it sorted in their heads. We are just focused on today. At the moment, we will try and get the seven wickets that are left and think about Adelaide when it comes and hopefully get a chance in Adelaide.”

In the absence of Gill, Devdutt Padikkal got the chance to bat at No. 3, but he was not able to make it up to the opportunity this time as he did in his Test debut against England

Dhruv Jurel played at No. 6 in the middle order in place of Rahul

The return of Rohit and Gill in the second Test would likely see Padikkal and Jurel being dropped from the team
