Former Pakistan cricketer Younis Khan shared his thoughts on the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025

He hopes that the tournament will proceed as planned and take place in Pakistan

Speaking at a post-match press conference on Thursday, Younis Khan said that he is very excited and hopes the Champions Trophy takes place in Pakistan

According to him it would be beneficial for cricket in the Asia region

He also stated the importance of regular matches between India and Pakistan to ease tensions between both nations

“I am very excited. I hope the Champions Trophy takes place and proves beneficial not only for Pakistan but also for cricket in this region. We need India and Pakistan to play regularly so that the tension diminishes. I hope India will visit Pakistan, and Pakistan will visit India.”

Earlier this month, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) wrote to the International Cricket Council (ICC) asking for an explanation for India’s refusal to travel to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy next year

The Indian government refused to send the Indian team for the Champions Trophy due to the security concerns

The ICC informed the PCB in writing hat India would not travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025

Now it all depends on the Indian government whether they would be sending the team to Pakistan for the tournament or not
