The Indian rupee is widely used in Nepal. It is also approved by the Government of Nepal and has equal validity with the currency there

Bhutan

The Indian rupee also runs in Bhutan and it is used in the daily transactions of the citizens there. The banknotes of Bhutan have the presence of Indian rupees

Maldives

The Indian rupee is used in tourism and trade transactions in Maldives. Although, the main currency here is the Maldivian Rufiya, but the Indian rupee is also accepted

Bangladesh has limited use of the Indian rupee, especially in the border areas where trade takes place between the two countries. However, it is not the official currency of Bangladesh

Pakistan

The Indian rupee is used in Pakistan especially in some border areas, but it is not the legal tender there. The Indian rupee is mainly used in business transactions

The use of Indian rupee in Sri Lanka is seen especially in tourist areas. Here the Indian rupee is accepted, but the currency here (LKR) is recognized as the primary currency

The use of the Indian rupee is seen in some regions of Thailand, especially among Indian tourists. The official currency of Thailand is the Thai Bhat, but the Indian rupee is accepted in some places
