Suggestions have been received from 14 states to promote EVs under the PM E-Drive scheme

Aims to double the number of EV charging stations to 72,300
The scheme was launched with an outlay of Rs 10,900 crore
In this, Rs 2,000 crore has been earmarked for building EV charging stations
The target is to promote more than 28.8 lakh EV vehicles by the end of the year 2026
Charging stations are also planned to be set up in ports and airports in high traffic density points
Target to provide service to more than 4,000 e-buses
Vehicles like E-3 wheelers will be preferred
