Clean the Mushrooms
Gently wipe mushrooms with a damp cloth or paper towel. Avoid soaking in water
Slice Evenly
Cut mushrooms into uniform slices to ensure even cooking
Heat the Pan
In a large skillet, heat olive oil or butter over medium-high heat
Add Garlic (Optional)
Sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant—don’t let it burn
Cook the Mushrooms
Add mushrooms in a single layer. Let them cook undisturbed for 2–3 minutes to brown, then stir occasionally
Season & Finish
Add salt, pepper, and optional herbs like parsley or a splash of lemon for brightness
Serve Hot
