The ongoing tariff conflict between India and the United States remains unresolved, making Prime Minister Modi's visit to the U.S. highly significant. It is noteworthy that the U.S. has imposed a total tariff of 50 percent on India, with 25 percent already in effect and an additional 25 percent set to be enforced from August 27. During the UNGA Summit, there is a possibility of a meeting with President Trump, alongside discussions with representatives from various countries.

Additional 25 percent tariff has been levied on products imported from India due to India's ongoing acquisition of Russian oil. In response, India has labeled the tariff as unfair, unjust, and impractical.
