Abu Dhabi [UAE], May 19 (ANI/WAM): The United Arab Emirates has vehemently denounced the terrorist assault on a military base in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, which led to multiple fatalities.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) affirmed that the UAE expresses its strong condemnation of these criminal acts, and its permanent rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism aimed at undermining security and stability in contravention of international law.
The Ministry expressed its sincerest condolences and sympathy to the government and brotherly people of Somalia, and to the families of the victims of this heinous and cowardly attack.
Witnesses reported to Reuters that a suicide bomber struck a line of young enlistees at the Damanyo military base in Mogadishu, Somalia's capital, resulting in at least 10 fatalities on Sunday. The attack was claimed by the terrorist organization Al-Shabaab.
According to reports, the attacker set off his explosives while teenagers were gathered at the entrance of the base.
