On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi departed from the national capital for a four-day trip to France and the US, where he will engage in discussions with President Emmanuel Macron and President Donald Trump.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit France from February 10 to 12 at the invitation of President Macron, where he will co-chair the AI Action Summit.
President Macron and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are set to visit the historic city of Marseille in France to inaugurate the first Indian Consulate in the country and tour the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor project. India, along with France and other partner nations, is involved in this consortium working to harness energy for global benefit.
Following his trip to France, he will embark on a two-day visit to the United States at the invitation of President Donald Trump. Upon his arrival in Paris on Monday evening, he is scheduled to attend a dinner hosted by President Macron at the Elysee Palace, held in honor of heads of government and state.
Numerous tech CEOs and other prominent figures invited to the summit are anticipated to join the dinner as well. During a recent special media briefing, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri revealed that Prime Minister Modi will jointly chair the AI Action Summit with President Macron on February 11.
Following the AI Summit, the visit will include a bilateral segment where Prime Minister Modi and President Macron will speak at the India-France CEO Forum. Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to travel to Marseille on the evening of February 11.
The French President is set to host a dinner in honor of Prime Minister Modi. On February 12, both leaders will visit the War Cemetery to pay tribute to the Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives in World War I.
The two leaders will together open the new Consulate General of India in Marseille and tour Kadash, where the International Thermal Nuclear Experimental Reactor is located.
Following his trip to France, he will depart for the US to meet with President Donald Trump and engage in discussions with top officials of the US administration. This will mark the first meeting between the two leaders since President Trump began his second term.
Previously, PM Modi traveled to the USA in June 2017 and welcomed President Trump for a state visit to India in February 2020. The leaders have had two phone conversations since November 2024.
