Argentina's presidential spokesman, Manuel Adorni, declared that the nation will be withdrawing from the World Health Organization (WHO). He stated that Argentine President Javier Milée had directed Foreign Minister Gerardo Worthin to terminate Argentina's involvement with the WHO.

"The citizens of Argentina will not permit any international organization to meddle with our sovereignty, especially in the health sector," he said.

Spokesperson Manuel Adorni cited significant disagreements in health management as the reason behind Argentina's decision, noting that these differences became more pronounced during the pandemic.

This resulted in the longest lockdown in Argentina's history and a lack of freedom due to the political influence of certain states. Argentina's presidential office blamed the WHO for causing economic harm during the COVID-19 pandemic by advocating for prolonged quarantines.

Argentina highlighted that exiting the WHO would allow for more flexibility and better allocation of resources in pursuing policies beneficial to Argentina.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has expressed disappointment regarding the United States' decision to exit the global health body, stressing the crucial role the WHO plays in safeguarding the health and safety of people worldwide, including those in the United States.
