The Indian Embassy in Jeddah reported on Wednesday that nine Indian citizens lost their lives in a road accident near Jizan in western Saudi Arabia.
"We deeply mourn the tragic loss of nine Indian nationals in a road accident near Jizan in the western region of Saudi Arabia," the Indian Consulate said.
Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar has also expressed grief over the incident. He said, "The accident at Prayagraj Mahakumbh is extremely sad and unfortunate. My deepest condolences to the affected devotees and their families. I pray for the speedy recovery of all the injured. ''
