Indonesian Navy Chief Admiral Mohammad Ali is on an official visit to India as part of a high-level delegation along with H.E. President Prabowo Subianto, the Chief Guest of the Republic Day Parade 2025. During his visit, Admiral Muhammad Ali and Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi held talks to deepen maritime cooperation and strengthen ties between the two maritime neighbours. The key areas of discussion between the two naval chiefs included taking forward joint initiatives like exercise Samudra Shakti, strengthening operational cooperation and addressing common maritime challenges including piracy and other illegal activities.

Indonesian contingent welcomed in India

The visit also includes being part of key maritime establishments such as the Information Fusion Centre – Indian Ocean Region (IFC-IOR) and the Weapons and Electronics Systems and Engineering Establishment (WESEE), which are aimed at enhancing regional cooperation and maritime domain awareness. Admiral Muhammad Ali also visited BrahMos Aerospace Private Limited (BAPL) and exchanged views and insights on further strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of defence and strategy.

Admiral Mohammad Ali's interactions with the Indian Navy and defence stakeholders reflected his shared commitment to promote regional cooperation and ensure a safe and peaceful maritime environment.
