Pakistan security forces have managed to kill 30 terrorists in three different operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ARY News and Inter-Services Public Relations, media wing of the military, reported.
The operations were conducted on Friday and Saturday after receiving intelligence about the presence of terrorists in Lakki Marwat district. The Pakistani troops in these operations killed 18 terrorists and injured six others. The second intelligence-based operation was conducted in the Karak district in which security forces exchanged fire and neutralized eight terrorists.
Four terrorists were killed in a third operation in the Bagh area of Khyber District. Two key leaders of the Kharji group, Aziz ur Rehman and Qari Ismail, were killed in the third operation. The security forces have also recovered two other terrorists, who were injured in the encounter. Several weapons and ammunition have been recovered from the slain terrorists, who have been involved in various attacks on security forces and civilian casualties in the region.
This sequence of operations follows another one on January 12 as Pakistan's forces kill nine terrorists in two separate engagements in North Waziristan. In one operation, six terrorists were killed, while other than them, two others were apprehended. In the second operation in Esham three terrorists were killed and two others injured.
Earlier, on January 11, Pakistani forces neutralized five terrorists in the Maddi area of Dera Ismail Khan, including their leader, Shafiullah Shafi. It was part of an ongoing effort by the military to dismantle terrorist networks operating in the region.
These operations show Pakistan's efforts to deal with terrorist threats and ensure the safety of its citizens and security personnel.
