US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met his Quad counterparts at the US State Department here on Tuesday with India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Japan's Takeshi Iwaya, and Australia's Penny Wong. Following the meeting, the Quad foreign ministers issued a joint statement and said, "Our four nations remain firm that international law, economic opportunity, peace, stability, and security in all areas, including the maritime domain, underpin the development and prosperity of the people of the Indo-Pacific." In addition, the Quad nations are committed to strengthening regional maritime, economic, and technological security, as well as promoting reliable and resilient supply chains in the face of growing threats.
