On Saturday, US President-elect Donald Trump appointed Kashyap 'Kash' Patel as the next Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Trump announced Patel's nomination on the social media platform Truth Social, highlighting his distinguished career in various government roles. These roles encompass Chief of Staff at the Department of Defense, Deputy Director of National Intelligence, and Senior Director for Counterterrorism at the National Security Council during Trump's initial presidential term.
Trump praised Patel for his work investigating the so-called 'Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax,' calling him an 'America First' supporter who has spent his career exposing corruption, ensuring justice, and protecting the American people.
I am thrilled to share that Kashyap 'Kash' Patel will become the new Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Kash is an outstanding lawyer, investigator, and proponent of 'America First,' who has dedicated his career to exposing corruption, upholding justice, and safeguarding the American public. He was instrumental in dismantling the 'Russia, Russia, Russia' hoax, championing truth, accountability, and the Constitution.
In my initial term, Kash excelled in various roles, including Chief of Staff at the Department of Defense, Deputy Director of National Intelligence, and Senior Director for Counterterrorism at the National Security Council. Moreover, Kash has overseen more than 60 jury trials," remarked the US President-elect.
Trump tasked Patel with addressing pressing issues such as rising crime rates, criminal gangs, and human and drug trafficking at the US border. He highlighted that Patel would work under Attorney General Pam Bondi to restore the FBI's core values of Fidelity, Bravery, and Integrity.
Trump announced that the FBI will put an end to the increasing crime wave in America, break up migrant criminal gangs, and halt the dangerous spread of human and drug trafficking at the border. He stated that Kash will collaborate with the esteemed Attorney General, Pam Bondi, to bring back Fidelity, Bravery, and Integrity to the FBI.
Donald Trump secured a second term as President of the United States by winning the 2024 presidential election with 295 electoral votes, defeating Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, who garnered 226 votes.
Following his victory, Trump has been rapidly assembling his foreign policy and national security team in preparation for his inauguration in January 2025.
