The AgniWarrior 2024, a collaborative military drill between India and Singapore, is scheduled to occur in Maharashtra from November 28 to November 30. The Additional Directorate General of Public Information, IHQ of MoD (Army), shared the exercise details on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The exercise is set to occur at the Devlali Field Firing Ranges, associated with the School of Artillery in Maharashtra.
The bilateral exercise, spanning from November 28 to November 30, aims primarily to improve professional military interactions between the artillery units of India and Singapore.
The ADGPI stated that the exercise will include the Indian Army and Singapore Armed Forces exchanging their best practices.
The event will include a venue for cultural interactions, aimed at strengthening the bond between the two countries.
The exercise occurs a month after Singapore's Defence Minister, Dr. Ng Eng Hen, visited India to co-chair the sixth India-Singapore Defence Ministers' Dialogue in New Delhi with his Indian counterpart, Rajnath Singh.
As 2025 nears, symbolizing 60 years of diplomatic relations between India and Singapore, both ministers have concurred to strengthen defence collaboration and achieve new milestones.
The press release stated that the bilateral agreement on Joint Military Training Army will be extended for another five years.
Acknowledging their inherent partnership for the joint development and production of defense equipment, both parties consented to boost industry collaboration, particularly in specialized areas like automation and artificial intelligence.
The Ministry of External Affairs highlighted that India-Singapore ties were upgraded to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Singapore in September 2024.
India and Singapore have a deep-rooted friendship based on trust and mutual respect, with their cooperation growing and diversifying across various sectors over the years.
