Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoA) with the Bihar government's Transport Department to automate five driving license test tracks in the state.

Maruti Suzuki announced that the tracks will be situated in Bhagalpur, Darbhanga, Gaya, Purnia, and Saran. The Agreement was signed in the presence of Bihar Transport Minister Sheela Kumari and Sanjay Kumar Agarwal (IAS), the Secretary of the Department of Transport, Government of Bihar.

Naveen Kumar (IAS), the State Transport Commissioner of Bihar, and Tarun Aggarwal, Senior Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility at Maruti Suzuki, were also present at the signing ceremony. Automating these test tracks is part of Maruti Suzuki's ongoing initiative to improve road safety via its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs.

The Automated Driving Test Track (ADTT) will be utilized for driving license tests for both two-wheelers (TW) and light motor vehicles (LMV). This initiative seeks to remove human involvement, providing a more thorough, efficient, and transparent evaluation of license applicants.

Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki is celebrating 25 years of its iconic Wagon R, one of its longest-running models in India. First launched in December 1999, this popular family hatchback has seen numerous updates over the years.

The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is priced starting at Rs. 5.54 lakh (ex-showroom) and is offered with both petrol and CNG powertrain options. It features a dependable 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, paired with either a five-speed manual or an AMT gearbox.

The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R has consistently ranked among the top-selling hatchbacks in India over the years. With a strong presence in the market and enduring popularity among customers, the Wagon R has achieved a remarkable milestone of over 30 lakh cumulative sales since its launch.
