Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to Uttarakhand and Odisha. In the state of Uttarakhand, PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 38th National Games in Dehradun. The National Games are being held from January 28 to February 14 in 11 cities of 8 districts of Uttarakhand. The theme of this year's game is "Green Games". Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed the enthusiasm of the people to witness the inauguration of the 38th National Games by the Prime Minister. CM Dhami said that PM Narendra Modi has a special attachment to Devbhoomi. Under his able leadership, Devbhoomi Uttarakhand is going to host the 38th National Games.
More than 10,000 athletes will participate
36 states and one Union Territory will participate in the National Games. Over 17 days, competitions will be held for 35 sports. Out of these, medals will be awarded for 33 sports, while two will be exhibition sports. Yoga and Mallakhamb have been included in the National Games for the first time. More than 10,000 athletes from across the country will participate in the event. An exclusive park named 'Sports Forest' is being developed near the venue, where 10,000 saplings will be planted by various athletes and guests.
PM Narendra Modi to attend Odisha Conclave
In Odisha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the 'Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave' and in the evening he will inaugurate the 38th National Games at Dehradun. The 'Utkarsh Odisha' Conclave is the premier global investment summit organised by the state government, and aims to establish the state as the centre of the Purvodaya Vision as well as a leading investment destination and industrial hub in India.
