Delhi Metro is going to open its services a bit early on January 26, 2025, to mark Republic Day. The metro service will begin across all lines from 3:00 AM, so that the commuters can reach Kartavya Path in time for the ceremony of Republic Day.
Trains will travel at a pace of one per 30 minutes until 6:00 A.M. It will resume normally after this till the remaining daylight hours. People can plan and opt for these morning services and skip the chaos seen during peak travel hours.
Delhi Metro begins its services between 5:00 AM to 11:30 PM in general, with the exception of the Airport Express Line, which starts from 4:40 AM to 11:40 PM. On the Republic Day, trains will start at 3:00 AM and in early hours, services will be available at 30 minutes of interval till 6:00 AM.
An advisory was also released by the DMRC, according to which the security checks at stations will be quite stringent on Republic Day as very tight security arrangements are being done in Delhi for the Republic Day. So people may have to wait in much longer queues and especially in peak hours before the 26th.
Anuj Dayal, Principal Executive Director of Corporate Communications for DMRC, requested the passengers to plan for extra time and not be embarrassed or worried by the checks that will now be more intensive.
