To promote solar energy use and reduce electricity costs, solar power systems will be installed on 290 government buildings in Haryana. The project will require an estimated Rs 36 crore. This approval was given at the High Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC) meeting, led by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, which took place today.

During the meeting of the High Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC), Departmental High Powered Purchase Committee (DHPC), and High Powered Works Purchase Committee (HPWPC), contracts and purchases amounting to Rs 804 crore were sanctioned.

During the meeting, over Rs 30 crore was saved by negotiating and fixing the rates with various bidders. Cabinet Ministers Shri Vipul Goyal, Shri Ranbir Gangwa, and Smt. Shruti Chaudhary attended the meeting.

The Chief Minister announced that the state government is swiftly executing the PM Surya Ghar free electricity scheme. The goal is to offer affordable electricity to residents by installing solar panels up to 2 kilowatts on their rooftops. Consumers will use the necessary electricity and sell the surplus to the grid.

Through this program, the central government provides a subsidy of Rs 60,000, while the Haryana government offers an additional subsidy of Rs 50,000. Consequently, it is important for more people to benefit from this scheme.
