Ak Sharma, the State Urban Development Minister, brought cheering news for the city of Prayagraj as he proclaimed that the place would soon sport its first ever super speciality hospital. An investment of about Rs 100 crores for the project had been decided over in a meeting of the cabinet earlier on this Wednesday at the Mahakumbh in the city of Prayagraj. The Cabinet also approved the issuance of municipal bonds to finance infrastructure development in Prayagraj, Varanasi, and Agra, with Rs 50 crore being allocated for all three cities.
Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also conducted the other cabinet meeting at the Mahakumbh site where several major decisions were reported. These included the fact that CM Yogi is planning to open up medical colleges in Hathras, Kasganj, and Baghpat and 62 new Industrial Training Institutes along with five innovation and training centers across the state.
The Cabinet also sanctioned the renewal of Uttar Pradesh's Aerospace and Defence and Employment Policy, which has been in place for five years. CM Yogi mentioned that new incentives would be rolled out to attract more investment to the state.
The other significant decision was the issue of municipal bonds for Prayagraj, Varanasi, and Agra. After the successful issue of similar bonds for Lucknow and Ghaziabad, this was a crucial step. CM Yogi explained that this is a wonderful way to give a boost to the development and branding of these cities and to give them a new, forward-looking direction for growth.
