A thick fog enveloped Delhi this morning, leading to interruptions in flight and train services in the national capital.
The city faced a cold wave and a drop in temperature in the morning. Many flights were delayed at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi due to fog.
The airport informed passengers that flights not meeting CAT III standards might be impacted, although landing and take-off operations are ongoing at Delhi airport.

The India Meteorological Department reported that Delhi experienced a temperature of 10 degrees Celsius at 5:30 am on Sunday. Yesterday at this time, the temperature in the city was 10.2 degrees Celsius. Numerous trains experienced delays at the New Delhi railway station because of fog.
Meanwhile, the air quality in the national capital remained in the 'very poor' category.
The Central Pollution Control Board reported that the AQI in Delhi was measured at 377 at 6 am today. An AQI ranging from 0 to 50 is deemed 'good', from 51 to 100 'satisfactory', 101 to 200 'moderate', 201 to 300 'poor', 301 to 400 'very poor', and 401 to 500 'severe'.
A large number of homeless individuals were observed residing in night shelters due to the ongoing cold wave. Numerous people were found seeking refuge in the night shelter home constructed at Bhikaji Cama Place.
The Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) has established 235 pagoda tents to offer shelter to homeless individuals. Night shelters have been arranged in various parts of the national capital, such as AIIMS, Lodhi Road, and the Nizamuddin flyover.
On Saturday, thick fog covered the national capital, reducing visibility to zero for an unprecedented nine-hour duration, marking the longest period of the season. According to the IMD, Safdarjung, the main weather station in the city, reported eight hours of zero visibility.
