Prime Minister Modi attended the three-day DGPs conference on Saturday, which was opened by Home Minister Amit Shah on November 29.
In the meeting, police chiefs from all states and various central security agencies are deliberating on strategies to formulate a plan to tackle both existing and emerging national security threats, including Left Wing Extremism, coastal security, narcotics, cybercrime, and economic security.
The report indicates that the delegates will assess the advancement of enacting new criminal laws and initiatives, along with the best practices in policing in their respective states.
At the program's inauguration on Friday, the home minister highlighted the crucial role of the security establishment in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047 and becoming the world's third-largest economy by 2027.
The home minister also emphasized the importance of addressing new security challenges, immigration, and urban policing trends along the eastern border.
He advocated for the development of a zero tolerance strategy and the execution of measures to enforce the zero tolerance policy.
Home Minister Amit Shah revealed that India is strengthening its police force as a strategic measure. The home minister also stated that under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, India is preparing its police force to handle contemporary challenges and address the root causes of crime and terrorism.
He mentioned that the DG-IG Conference acts as a forum for exchanging information and experiences to enhance policing in each state through cooperation.
