Farmers Protest: Sarwan Singh Pandher, president of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Morcha, spoke to IANS on Monday, revealing two key announcements made by the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha Bharat and the Samyukta Kisan Morcha.
The first announcement stated that farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal will begin an indefinite fast at the Khanauri border on November 26. Pandher warned that if the government fails to engage in dialogue, a march toward Delhi in groups will commence on December 6, ten days after Dallewal's fast begins.
Batch Registrations Will Commence On November 30
Sarwan Singh Pandher stated that no vehicles would accompany them and that the registration of batches would begin on November 30. During Jagjit Singh Dallewal's hunger strike, they plan to confront prominent BJP leaders visiting Punjab, questioning them about the unresolved issues faced by farmers protesting at the Haryana-Rajasthan border.
He mentioned that since February 18, there has been no communication with the central government. If the government engages in dialogue and reaches a solution, it would be a positive development. We plan to go to Delhi and have requested permission to hold our movement at either Jantar Mantar or Ramlila Maidan. If our demands are met, it will be appreciated. Our protest will remain peaceful.
Jagjit Singh Dallewal has stated that if the central government wishes to engage in discussions, talks can begin directly without the need for mediation. However, if the government appoints a mediator, the farmers have no objections. Farmers are protesting over various demands, including the implementation of a Minimum Support Price (MSP) guarantee law for crops. Currently, they are stationed at the Punjab-Haryana border. Dallewal plans to begin a hunger strike on November 26, and if the government does not initiate negotiations within 10 days, the farmers will march to Delhi.
