Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the Congress and the RJD, accusing them of pushing the state into darkness with their misrule.
He alleged that both the parties have done injustice to the backward and other backward classes in the state.
Speaking to reporters here, Chowdhury said, "... If there is darkness in Bihar, roads are not being built and hospitals are not functioning properly, then Lalu Prasad Yadav is responsible for it," he said. If reservation had been implemented earlier, half of the country's secretaries would have been from OBCs. He said both the Congress and the RJD have no vision for the country.
"But the Congress and RJD do not talk about development of Bihar and the Congress has no vision for the country... Be it Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, all of them have done injustice to backward and OBC sections of the society," he said. Meanwhile, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to publicly commit themselves to conducting a caste census.
Addressing a public rally in Maharashtra's Shirdi, Priyanka Gandhi said, "I challenge PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to stand on one platform and announce that they will conduct a caste census and remove the 50 per cent cap on reservation." The Congress leader highlighted that his brother Rahul Gandhi undertook the Bharat Jodo Yatra to advocate for a caste census. "They (BJP) claim that my brother is against reservation. This is the same man (Rahul Gandhi) who walked from Manipur to Mumbai seeking justice." He walked from Kanyakumari to Kashmir demanding a caste census. They spread lies because they are afraid. How can we allocate reservations effectively without knowing the population composition of each caste?"
