Digvesh Rathi & Nitish Rana involved in a heated clash in DPL 2025

In the eliminator match of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025, West Delhi Lions captain Nitish Rana impressed everyone with his incredible knock, which shocked the entire Arun Jaitley Stadium. Rana scored a century in just 42 balls against South Delhi Superstarz, taking his team to Qualifier-2, with Rana smashing sixes one after another in his innings. He scored an unbeaten 134 off 55 balls, which included 8 fours and 15 sixes. Batting first, South Delhi Superstarz scored a strong score of 201 runs with the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Anmol Sharma (55 runs), captain Tejaswi Dahiya (60 runs), and Sumit Mathur (48*) played explosive innings for the team.

However, in response to that, the West Delhi Lions team made the match completely one-sided on the basis of Nitish Rana's aggressive knock. As soon as Rana came, he smashed the South Delhi bowlers and led the team to a 7-wicket win with 17 balls remaining. Wicketkeeper Chris Yadav contributed 31 runs, and Mayank Gosain contributed an unbeaten 15 runs with him.

The most talked-about players during the match were Nitish Rana and South Delhi spinner Digvesh Rathi, when they were involved in a heated argument. The incident took place when Rana hit 3 consecutive sixes in one over of Digvesh. Angered by this, Rathi came to bowl the next ball but did not release the ball from his hand. After this, Nitish stepped back, and a heated argument started between the two players.

The situation got worse after Nitish raised his bat in anger. However, the umpires and the players of both the teams intervened and calmed the matter. The video of this incident went viral on social media all over. This match was no less than a nightmare for Digvesh Rathi, as he conceded 39 runs in 2 overs, and after this, the captain removed him from bowling. With this win, West Delhi Lions have reached Qualifier-2. The team's confidence is sky-high due to Nitish Rana's explosive innings, whereas the South Delhi Superstars team got eliminated from the entire tournament.

After this incident both the players have been hefty amount from their fees, Nitish has been fined 50% where on the other hand Digvesh fined 80 %.
