The fifth test between England and India will commence on July 31 at the Oval, and with that, the Indian side can see the debut of left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh. Currently, the Indian team is trailing in the series by 1-2; with that, the Indian management might come up with some major changes in the do-or-die fifth test of the series, as Jasprit Bumrah might get rested due to workload management.

The 25-year-old was all set for his debut in the Manchester test only, but due to some thumb injury during a practice session in Beckenham, he was ruled out of the game. Now, as he is fully recovered after undergoing proper medical services and rehab, he is ready to bowl with his full potential and is all set to make his debut at the final test of the five-match test series.

According to a recent report, the team management had plans for Arshdeep from the last two tests. With Mohammed Siraj's fatigue and Bumrah's workload management, Arshdeep could finally bring the balance to the team.

Arshdeep Singh's childhood coach, Jaswant Rai, in a statement said,

"Playing red-ball cricket for the country is the ultimate dream of any cricketer. The same is with Arshdeep. He is ripe now. He should get a chance to play with the red ball. He can bring the balance that India has been looking for for so long. He has patiently done the hard yards, and I might sound biased, but he deserves the test cap. If not in England, then where?"

Arshdeep played a crucial role in the T20 World Cup 2024 win and was the joint highest wicket taker in the tournament with 17 wickets. Despite success in T20, he always aspired to play test cricket, and now the time has finally come.
