The Australian batter Tim David smashed the fastest T20I hundred, reaching the milestone in just 37 balls against the West Indies in St. Kitts on Friday. He scored 102 runs off 37 balls, smashing 6 fours and 11 sixes, helping his team chase a total of 215 runs with six wickets remaining. With this win, the visitors sealed the series with a 3-0 lead in the five-match series.

David's hundred is the third fastest T20I century against any test-playing nation. Earlier, in the IPL 2025, he played for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), who won their maiden title this year, and played a crucial role in the whole tournament. In the third match of the series, he came to bat in the sixth over after Captain Mitchell Marsh lost his wicket.

TIM DAVID'S REACTION AFTER SMASHING THE FASTEST T20I HUNDRED

After his incredible knock, he revealed that he used Andre Russell's bat for the third T20I. Recently, the West Indies legend bid goodbye to international cricket after the second T20I against Australia.

David was also awarded the Player of the Match award after his tremendous knock. He said,

"I've spent a lot of time working on power hitting, but now I'm working on my shot selection. I've been carrying that Dre Russ bat around for a year, and it felt like it was the best time to use it."

Further, he said,

"Was just having a great time in the middle playing for Australia. It was nice to have a period at home and get my body right. I didn't think I would get the opportunity to get a hundred for Australia, so I'm stoked."

The 29-year-old did not waste even a single ball; from ball 1 only, he started smashing runs and did not spare any bowler. Gudakesh Motie was one of the bowlers who gave too many runs to him; the Australian batter smashed him for four consecutive sixes. In the 10th over he scored 28 runs, completing his half century in 16 balls. There also came a twist when he got a life when he was batting on 90. He came to bat when Australia was on 61/3. David, who is known for his finishing abilities in the shortest format, once again proved everyone right with his exceptional performance.
